Shadows

Sickness does not help me to draw.
But I made these a few days ago. They're "shadows" for an art jam in the ABR guild over on gaia. The challenge was to get a random attribute and create a shadow from that attribute.


This one is "Alcohol". It feeds on booze, and needs to feed every hour because its body slowly evaporates at room temperature.


This one is "Speed". It's modeled after the Sail fish, which is supposed to be the fastest fish in the ocean.

Daisy

Long time no posting. Sorry about that, I haven't been drawing that much lately.
But I just finished this for my grandfather's birthday tomorrow (the 19th). It's his dog, Daisy, who had to be put to sleep a few years back. He really loved this dog, and I tried to do her justice, even though I made a ton of anatomical mistakes.
I had fun working with some Inktense pencils, even if I need practice using them as watercolors.

I'll get back to doing more sketches now. =) I feel the drawing-itch in my fingers.

Yeah, I haven't drawn anything in a few days. I've mostly been working on these gaia commissions and feeling a bit stressed about starting school.

I've been trying out some coloring/shading techniques on these pics, and working in greyscale was really good practice.

I can't seem to understand how to get the colors right when I try this... I think I tried painting that tomato at least ten times before I had to stop because the fruit was getting a bit... icky in the warm air in my computer room, and I had to get rid of them.

Trash isn't really that strong. It's a magic shield that can shrink and grow to any size, but doesn't get heavier in Trash's hands. If anyone else tries to lift it, it's too heavy to carry.

So I'm trying to learn to paint digitally. I find it difficult beyond belief, and it took me two days worth of attempts to figure out a way to blend colors in a way that didn't look completely wrong. And this is what came out of it. =) A nectarine, which was eaten after I finished painting this. It was delicious.
